The Exclusion of Women

I came across a touching video today that broke my heart and brought me to tears.   Throughout Scripture we see a man-dominated world with a hit and miss reference to women from time to time.  As women, we understand this to mean that men had dominated the culture throughout history as women were considered less then men, and still are in many cultures today, but how much less then men is shocking to say the least.  Take 10 minutes to watch this video made for Jews to see how previous Rabbi’s (teachers) diminished women vs how Jesus, the Messiah, uplifted them up.  We learn from watching this that back when Jesus walked the earth, women were basically the scum of the earth, objects to be used and abused, without mind, and filled with sin (and this carries forward even today in various cultures.)  Jesus broke through and crushed their corrupted views more than we, in today’s society, can ever imagine.  I had NO idea just how bad it was back in these days, and, unfortunately, still is today in some parts.  I think you’ll agree.  This video gave me a new appreciation for who Jesus is and a new realization of how much He loves and respects women as equal heirs to His kingdom.

26 for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave[g] nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise. ”  Galations 3:26-28

Thanks be to Jesus Christ who values each and every person as equal heirs no matter their physical, emotional, or cultural differences.  He is the righteousness we should all strive towards.
