We’ve heard it said and saw many bracelets that were a hot fad a few years back, “WWJD” — What Would Jesus Do?
The believers in the book of Acts had a simple, fail proof method of WWJD… They followed WDJD (What Did Jesus Do?): They heard what Jesus said and they repeated the same things. They saw what Jesus did, and they did what Jesus did including the casting out of demons, healing the sick, loving sinners, and sharing God’s Word. They followed where Jesus went, and then they too went to share His Word.
- “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.” John 13:15
Today in our post-enlightenment world, there are so many secular, religious theories & philosophies that the whole Christian-faith-thing is confusing. Are we suppose to be doing this or suppose to be doing that? Because of the amount of confusion, we’ve lost some of the true basics of what Jesus was trying to teach.
Miracles exist today, demons exist today, forgiveness exists today, serving others exists today, love exists today. The Word of God exists today.
Get back to the basics and read what Jesus said and what Jesus did and model your life after the true followers of Jesus Christ. WWJD was the way of life for the first believers and should be our goal today as well.
- “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”” John 8:12
