“…set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you. Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.” 1 Timothy 4:12-16
Someone is watching you.
There are people in your life that watch you. They may watch you from afar to see your overall actions. They may watch you up close to see how you handle all the details of your life. They may be watching your facebook & twitter posts. They may be watching where you go and hang out. They may be watching what you watch on TV. They may be watching how you treat others. Any way you look at it, you are always being watched by someone in your life.
What messages are you sending?
We are to be excellent role models and examples for others around us, modeling the behavior of the one we are suppose to be following, Jesus Christ. We are to be set a part from those who don’t believe. Do they see a difference in our behaviors from what they do? If not, how will they see Christ?
- “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.” John 13:15-16
Father God, help us to be a better example to those around us. Help us to display your qualities above our own qualities. Rid us of unrighteousness that is blocking changes in our lives. We are sorry for our sins, Father, and we thank you that through your Son, Jesus Christ, that we can be forgiven and start again to grow closer to you. In Jesus Name, Amen.
