It’s All In The Details

“They also made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates all around on the hem of the robe, alternating a bell and a pomegranate all around the hem of the robe for the service, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.”  Exodus 39:25-26

God is a God of details.  If there is any doubt, study the last few chapters of Exodus.  God had given Moses the full details of how to build the Tabernacle, each piece that was to reside in there, exactly where they should be located, the garment colors and designs, etc.  For us, we get lost in all the details and get a little bored and/or overwhelmed trying to figure out why there was so much time devoted to so much detail.  Yikes!  Why would we need to know every little detail about the construction?

Looking at the broader picture, God wants us to know how involved He is in our lives and in the plans He has for our lives, down to the finest, minute detail.  He cares about not only over overall well-being, but He cares about the stubbed toe you got this morning.  He cares not only about you serving Him overall, but in the ways you are serving Him, operating in the specific gifting areas that He has given you.

We are to lift everything in prayer, not just generalities, but the specific details so that God can answer in His specific, detailed way.

  • ““All this,” David said, “I have in writing as a result of the Lord’s hand on me, and he enabled me to understand all the details of the plan.”  1 Chronicles 28:19

God has detailed plans.  Listen in closely to find out what they are and what part He wants you to fulfill.

Father God, We ask for wisdom to understand your details so that we can serve you more completely, and more specifically, in the way you desire.  Please continue to reveal your plans to us. In Jesus Name.  Amen.
