Keeping Math On Sins

“Then [Abraham] believed in the Lord; and He reckoned [counted or credited] it to him as righteousness.”  Genesis 15:6

Once we are saved by the blood of Jesus, God doesn’t keep math on our sins.  He is not keeping track of every sin, counting how many times we mess up, graphing the results, and giving us grades.  What God is doing is looking for us to come humbly before Him, admit our sins, and tell Him that we believe and trust in Him for our forgiveness, healing, and transformation.

  • “The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.”  Romans 4:23-25

You can’t get a good enough math grade to earn your forgiveness.  You only need to trust in Jesus Christ, who is able to remove your sins, keeping them off of your grade report.

  • “You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.”  Micah 7:19

“Therefore [Jesus] is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.” Hebrews 7:25

Trust Jesus for the perfect math grade.
