“Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” 2 Cor 6:17
Have you ever been a minority, whether it because of your race, your sex, your marital status, your clothing choices, your education level, your income, your religious views? Being a minority can make you feel alone, isolated, excluded, fearful, and even paranoid. You don’t fit in. Being alone pulls many through disinterest, to despair, and ultimately into depression, and sometimes to death. Being a minority is a battle within us, as our nature and very needs are to feel included.
The majority do evil in the site of the Lord…
- “You shall not follow the masses in doing evil…” Exodus 23:2
Jesus, therefore, calls us to be a minority. This seems odd, since the concept, from a natural perspective, would spiral us down into depression, but from God’s perspective, being a minority gathers the minorities together into an even great fellowship with each other and with Father God.
- “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2
- “If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” John 15:19
Take a risk. Be the minority.
Jesus Christ asks us to do this. In return, He will give you more than enough provision to make up for your ‘loss.’
- “Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:39
What is keeping you from being The Minority?
