Most are familiar with this old tune, both Christians and non-Christians a like.
“Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, I see.”
I was born a wretch who was lost and blind, but now I have been reborn as a child of God who is found and whose eyes have been open.
How often do we stay in the mentality of being a wretch even after we come to God? Probably more often than we care to admit. Once we come to the Lord Jesus Christ, we no longer are considered a wretch, but instead a seeing, found, child of God.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—” Ephesians 2:8
Grace = God giving us power, favor, and blessings we do not deserve. Grace is not only a covering for our sins, but also what gives us everything we need to live.
“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.” 1 Cor 15:10
God’s grace is truly that… Amazing!
