I woke up this morning with thoughts of snow before my feet hit the ground. All over the world, winter seems never-ending. Normally, this time of the year is filled with robins pulling up worms, neighbors putting on fertilizer, and runners enjoying the fresh spring air. Not this year. In the US, in Europe, in parts of Asia, we’ve had blizzard and blizzard, some at record levels. Europe was shut down just a couple of weeks ago from the huge amounts of snow dumped on them. In the US, we continue to have bouts of snow. All of this is, needless to say, very unusual. It is snowing even as I am speaking, on April 21. The snow is gently falling down. It looks gorgeous and it reminds me of a verse:
“Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.” Psalm 51:7
Signs point to the soon coming of Christ: the changes in weather, signs in the skys, the rumors of war, increased earthquakes, sinkholes, increased sinfullness, rampant turning from God’s Word, false teachers, financial collapses, world-wide communications, and much more.
This morning, I felt that quite possibly with all the snow the world is having, that God might be trying to show us that very soon, He will be “washing the entire earth, whiter than snow,” when sin will be wiped off the face of the earth forever.
“‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:4
What a glorious day that will be. We await the coming of our King, Jesus Christ.
“He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.” Revelation 22:20
Are you ready if Jesus were to come back to today? Would you be overjoyed? Would you be deeply grieved? Would He say that He knows you? These are big questions, but the only ones that matter on that day.
